<Shincheonji Is a Fast-Spreading Heresy Religion in the United States>
People gathered at a public high school in Santa Ana even after the regular classes ended on March 25 last year. The move is aimed at participating in rallies held by groups called “One heart worship” and “Bible College.” These groups, were actually members of heretical Shincheonji.
When it became known that the event was carried out by a disguised group of Shincheonji, local residents and Shincheonji confronted.
Residents shouted, “Shincheonji is a pseudo-group,” and “We must get out,” but Shincheonji called the police, saying, “Don’t disturb us.”
Heresy Shincheonji is also rapidly spreading in the United States across the Pacific Ocean.
According to local church members in the United States, Shincheonji has been spreading intensively to locals and the second generation of Koreans since COVID-19.
Unlike the first generation of Koreans, locals and second generations who lack information on Shincheonji are falling into Shincheonji, said Pastor Kim Hyung-chul of the Wind of Life Church.
The main route for locals and second generations to fall into Shincheonji is online. Previously, a rally at a high school was also recruited online. If you access the QR code at the top of the poster that says “Spring Into Action,” you will find detailed information on the rally.
Social networking services (SNS) are also actively used for shincheonji missionary work.
“When I posted the Bible verse on Instagram, I received a message from Shincheonji asking if he is a Christian,” James(pseudonym) said. “Afterwards, I was invited to an online class and took a strange class mentioning Mount Zion and Babelon. Later, it turned out that it was Shincheonji.”
Chris (pseudonym), who lives in Seattle, also said, “I met my girlfriend through a dating app, and it was Shincheonji,” adding, “I think I approached it for the purpose of missionary work in the first place.”
Shincheonji, which first entered the United States in 1994, is currently active in major U.S. cities such as New York, Washington, DC, and Seattle.
Among the twelve branches of Shincheonji, five branches (Johan, Dada, Doma, Matdi, Simone), Zion Church, and One Logos Theological Seminary are spreading earlier.

According to modern religion, as of 2019, the number of U.S. believers in Shincheonji is estimated to be about 4,000.
It is insignificant compared to Korea, the birthplace, but local people are concerned that Shincheonji is rapidly expanding its power by using clever propaganda methods.
Pastor Kim Hyung-chul said, “Shincheonji, which includes the second generation of Koreans and local believers, is growing rapidly around LA.
He then emphasized, “Shincheonji in the United States also places Christians as the number one target for missionary work,” adding, “It is necessary to educate and prevent the saints in advance of unique terms used only by Shincheonji.”
The reason why Shincheonji mainly targets church members abroad is that there is a precedent for success in Korea. Shincheonji nearly tripled the number of believers in Korea alone from 2009 to 2014 through conspiracy propaganda.
Jin Yong-sik, president of the Christian Association of Korea, advised, “We are using the tactic of disguised propagation by disguising it as Christianity. We need to inform missionaries and overseas of the various methods of propagation and damage cases in Shincheonji.”
